Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Stampin Stars and Twinklets blog hop

Thank you for joining us for this amazing 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue Blog hop! We’re showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue.

We have an incredible line up of talented Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators that are either members of the Twinklets (essentially my immediate Stampin’ Up!® family) or the Stampin Stars. The much larger extended family of demonstrator’s that I sit within.
You may be starting here or have come from the incredibly talented Sarah McDermott and if so …….. hello. Wasn’t her project stunning?

If not, then don’t worry just click on the arrows at the bottom of the post and you can get on your blog hop journey. Alternatively  you can also  use the list down towards the end of this post to make your way around the hop.
Please feel free to leave comments as you journey round as we love hearing from you. I will also be randomly selecting one person who comments on this blog post to receive a little something from the new catalogue.
If you’re on Pinterest or some of the larger Facebook sites then chances are you may have come across the new Stampin’ Up! Swirly Bird stamp set.  It’s everywhere along with  thousands of posts about Flamingo’s (‪#‎ifoundaflamingo!, but that’s another post).  And it’s that type of set that you didn’t think you  wanted……………………………. until you started seeing it everywhere!
Fortunately this set paired with the equally versatile Swirly Scribbles Thinlets,  was part of our limited pre-order so I spent a whole afternoon last weekend ‘playing’ (without being distracted by all the other loveliness that went into my huge order on the 1st June) and came up with this little project for Fathers day. Don’t worry I won’t be spoiling the surprise!

This set comprises a card, a box to hold a bottle of home made salted toffee vodka and a matching bag to hold everything all together.

I’m a bit of a ‘re-purposer’ and made a cover tag to go over one of the bags that my local deli uses to deliver my lunch when I’m at work.  I used one of the new 2016-18 In-Colours Dapper Denim as the base colour and teamed it with Real Red stripy DSP.

I sponged the whisper white card to create an ombre effect and then over stamped in the same colours to create the spray. The dazzling diamonds glimmer paper made fabulous crests of the wave once cut with the die from the complementary set. Just to note if you buy them together as a bundle you save 10%

My card followed the same technique, but this time I created a small flotilla of yachts sailing in the sun and finished the layout with a small sentiments.

I also tucked the boats under the die a little so it looked a little more realistic and created a twinkling/shimmering sun with a combination of stamping and a few splatters of the clear Wink of Stella.

Finally this little box was one I adapted from one I saw on Pinterest  by Ann Melvin. Isn’t it fab!
Once again I based the design around the Dapper Denim/ Real Red stripy DSP and I think the belly band not only serves its purpose in keeping every thing together in transit, but just finishes it off.

I cut two of the ‘waves’ and stamped two of the boats to hide the joins.

A simply stamped and handwritten wrap finished off the bottle to go inside. Below is a view of the box partially opened.

    • Thanks Fiona, the little boast sort of dictated the colour scheme and it all fell into place. Toffee vodka really easy. Vodka + Wurthers original + 2-3days + strain = yummy! Thanks for your lovely comment xx
