Seasonal Stampin School June 18

Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Seasonal Stampin School June 18

Today was my all day  Seasonal Stampin’ School and although the weather was hot and sunny our lovely hall was definitely a chill out zone.

All the ladies received one of the Accented Blooms stamps sets in their £40 goodie bag and we had plenty of inspiration to whet their appetite including a huge dragon fly who spent most of the afternoon checking out our projects from above until they were satisfied with our work and then it left to enjoy the sunset!

Everyone loved the new products in the catalogue, especially the new 18-20 In-colors, but then who doesn’t love a rainbow of bright colours on a sunny day?

As with all my Stampin’ Schools we had a lovely light lunch included. which gave everyone the chance to look through the samples, check out the catalogue, meet new crafty friends or simply catch up with each other.

On the tables we had plenty of water and a cute all attendee gift which contained some lovely floral bath salts.

Merry for Merlot

Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Merry for Merlot

As soon as I saw the new Merry Merlot paper in the colour revamp I instantly knew that I wanted make an Eclipse card celebrating my favourite tipple.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.7

This project is so quick and easy to make but I’ve added some additional time saver hints should you wish to try this card for yourself.

For this card I used the Half Full stamp set to create the background,  randomly colouring the glasses with my Stampin’ blends .

TIME SAVER You could easily just use a strip of patterned paper rather than make your own to save time.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.9

I then spaced the Large letter Framelits W N &E  on the card (leaving space for the glass of wine that I used in stead of an I) and cut out the letters using my Bigshot. I then cut a further 4 of each of the letters from card stock

TOP TIP: Use the backing card in the DSP packets to make your layers. It’s thicker than the card stock, still has a white core and is cheaper on your pocket.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.11

I then glued all the layers together. Stamped, coloured and cut out the wine glass and mounted it with dimensionals to form the I in my WINE!

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.8

I then made up the card and finally added some fine tip glue to the top of the glass to create a shiny finish. Voila

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.10

Finally, I have a couple more tips for making eclipse cards:

TOP TIP: Either use coloured card stock for the layers or before you glue the final top patterned layer onto your letters run a blend or your favourite marker around the edges like I have here. Just make sure that the glue is totally dry It really makes your letters pop.

TIME SAVER: Don’t have time to build up the letters? Then use one layer of fun foam. quick and simple but not as flexible to amend the height.

Varied Vases & Birthday wishes

Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Varied Vases & Birthday wishes

The new annual catalogue is packed full of gorgeous products and I’m having to avoid Pinterest right now to keep my wish list under control!

One stamp set that immediate caught my eye and catapulted to the top of my ‘must have’ list was the uber cute Varied Vases which can be bought as a bundle accompanied with a coordinating punch. This set was design by Mary Fish to celebrate hitting 1 Million Dollars of sales. Now that’s a lot of stamp sets! But then there are a lot of stamps in this gorgeous set

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.12This card is a little more muted than my last class sample post, using a Powder Pink and Smoky Slate palette. However the ladies at my recent classes thought it was a lovely layout to pull together and could see lots of permutations of the theme.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.13

There was no need for positioning or masks for this card as the photopolymer stamps made the placement really easy.  The punched vase covered up the stem for the orchids.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.15

Did you notice the beautiful new embellishment pearls? They are from the new  share what you love artisan pearls. I think they just set off those orchids perfectly.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.16

The inside also received some coordination attention and the sentiments in this set really allows you to cover off so many occasions.

Fathers Day with Apron of love

Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – Fathers Day with Apron of love

Its fathers day  and I wanted to share the card I made for my amazing dad with all the days out there whether they are with you today, far away or living in your heart

I tend to  design my cards showcasing one of the fabulous Stampin’ Up! Stamp sets so today I used  Apron of Love. But I went all out with three Framelit die sets.

Crafty-Little-Minx-fathers-day-demonstrator-pin-up1

I cut the main body of the apron in watercolour card and smooshed it with night of navy, Early Expresso and Granite Grey, adding some contrast and folds to build up the texture.

Crafty-Little-Minx-fathers-day-demonstrator-pin-up2

The letter were mounted on three layers of thick whisper white card to make them pop.

Did you spot the cute little stars on the letters and background? Its from the Hearts come home Stamp set and its my current go to stamp for adding detail to masculine cards.

Crafty-Little-Minx-fathers-day-demonstrator-pin-up3.jpg

For the bottles I coloured the die cut water colour card, with my aqua painter and once dry added a shiny glaze with the fine tip glue pen.  The labels were hand written using my aqua painter.

I finished off the apron with some shiny silver foil barbecue tools and added the ribbed effect to the pocket with a marker. Voila!

You are wonderful!

Stampin Up demonstrator – Crafty Little Minx – You are wonderful!

Oh how I am loving the new additions to our colour families and they were the inspiration for this card using the beautiful new Rooted in Nature stamp set. I love how vibrant  all the colours  look together and my class attendees certainly had fun making this card.

Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.4

For this super simple but utterly stunning card. We masked off  a section of the card and using the sponge brayer’s layered the colour to create a brilliant block of colour. We then added a splatter of water to create a little more  texture. Craftylittleminx 07-06-18.5

We then used my new prized possession my stamparatus to add the tree and sentiment. With perfect positioning every time!

I love the overall effect once the faceted dots complete the project. Voila
