Make It Together

Welcome to the Stampin’ Stars Autumn-Winter 2014 Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be sharing some great projects from one of the new beautiful products in the autumn winter seasonal catalogue. I was really in a dilemma as to which of the sumptuous new stamps sets to choice. Many of them can be bought with coordinating dies or punches which makes that mass production of fabulous Christmas cards sooooooo easy.

But these products are not just seasonal as I have shown below with my stamp for all seasons projects based on the Wonderous Wreath Set with its coordinating dies.

However before I start if you should have arrived from the incredibly creative Jamie Turney’s blog, to see what she’s been making – click on the button below to go there.

OK… here is the first project I’ve made with the gorgeous new Catalogue goodies.
As I mentioned above I love products that can be used all year round and this set is prefect to use for any occasion.

I am just loving the designer papers in this launch and no more so than the All is Calm pack. There is also  some silky ribbon in the catalogue that coordinates beautifully, so this had to be my inspiration. I even used the thick packaging that keeps the paper all flat as the base for the die cut stack Noel to give it a bit of extra wow.

I just love soft spring colours, but went for a more unusual combination for my next project, Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana. This time I went for a square card in kraft card and die cut an apature to mount the wreath inside the card and allow it to show through to the front. The stripes were stenciled onto the card to add a little dimension on the front.

Now for something a little different …….. A flower shaped card! Same wreath but different colours and this time stamped and die cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock. I think this card could be adapted so easily for so many different summer events.

This last card takes its inspiration from the colours that I associate with my garden at this time of the year.

Another different card shape, this time a standard DL, but with a twist as its two sections are held together using the white and Tangerine Tango two-tone twin. This time I embossed the Tangerine Tango base card and then used simple die cut shapes to create layers.

Gosh that’s a year gone in a flash! So which is your favourite season?

Thank you for visiting… Don’t forget to leave a comment and let me know which card you liked the best. I would be delighted to hear what you think of my projects.

It’s the Stampin’ Stars New 2014-15 Catalogue Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Stampin’ Stars New 2014-15 Catalogue Blog Hop!
You should have landed on my project from Christine Widdowson’s blog, Diamond Stamping, to see what she’s been making – click on the button below to go there.

OK.. here is the project I’ve made with the gorgeous new Catalogue goodies

It’s that season of weddings and anniversaries and so my inspiration was to create a box that could hold a gift voucher for some friends of our’s who are tying the knot next weekend.
I used the new Hamburger Box Bigz XL and managed to work out how to cut it on the fold to create a box twice the size. More box for your bucks!
As it’s a special occasion I used some of the luscious shimmery white cardstock to give it a touch of luxury. The box is easy to construct, but a top tip is to cut the corners rather than fold in the little pleats so it creates a stronger, crisper finish.
Once I had the box constructed I went to work decorating. Firstly I had to add a row of smoky slate chevron ribbon to hide the crease created when doubling up the size. Next I added some flowers using the Spiral Flower original. I used the same shimmery card and then added some smaller flowers made with the Fancy Foil designer vellum.

I then punched some leaves from some silver glimmer paper using the bird builder punch and added some punched butterflies using the bitty butterfly punch. The body of the bird doubles as a great substitute for a large leaf and the glimmer does curl slightly to and some extra dimension.

Finally I used the tag that comes with the Hamburger Box (even more for your money!) and heat embossed the sentiments and cute little heart from the must have Something to Say stamp set. The final touch was to attach them with a small piece of silver 3.2mm ribbon. Phew!
Thank you for visiting…I have a little confession to make. This is my first blog hop! So if you’d like to leave a comment I would be delighted to hear what you think of my project.

Countdown 2014 /15 – 1 day to go

Make it Monday!
Woohoo its Monday! Well not any ordinary Monday but catalogue launch eve……..  and boy am I excited.  As I mentioned yesterday, to celebrate I will be participating in a blog hop with some of my lovely Stampin buddies to showcase some of the new products. If you can’t wait there is a sneak of my project at the bottom of my post
Today’s card is another simple layered card and shows the versatility of these stamp sets

I am so in love with the Hardwood background stamp. Again it has so many uses, but for this card I have kept it simple stamping the image using Baked Brown Sugar onto a base of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then using the beautiful Summer Silhouettes stamp set I created a bed of garden flowers swaying in the breeze and then to balance the card stamped in the top corner to create a hanging creeper. The colours used were Garden Green and Wild Wasabi for the foliage and Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral for the flowers. I then sponged around the edge with some more Baked Brown Sugar

The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set and was die cut with the Banner framelits set.  Finished off with some Thick Baker’s Twine in Crisp Cantaloupe and some of the tiny pearls.
So that’s all my pre-launch projects and now it’s time to party!
Do you love to create your own handmade paper crafts?
Do you want to earn some products for free?

A Stampin’ Up! party is a creative event you host at your home (or mine if you wish), where you invite your friends to enjoy an exciting demonstration provided by me, your Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. When you host a party, you’ll see new project ideas, learn different techniques, make 2 projects, and have fun with people you enjoy.
As a hostess, you’ll work with me to choose a date for a workshop, and then invite your friends and family to stamp shop and have fun with you. Your Stampin’ Up! workshop can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be. It can be a class where you make specific projects, or a training to learn new techniques. No matter what you have in mind, I will help you make it the perfect event for you and your friends!

At your Stampin’ Up! party fun will be the main event

PS….. shhhh don’t tell anyone, but here is a sneak peek of my project for tomorrow

So see you back tomorrow for my final launch project

Countdown 2014 /15 – 2 days to go

Stampin Sunday
Today I am so excited as it’s only two days to go until we go live with the new catalogue and it’s jam packed with loads of great ideas for projects.  Not long to wait now and to celebrate I will be participating in a blog hop with some of my Stampin buddies to showcase some of the new products.
Today’s card is looks more complicated than my previous posts, but it’s really not. Plus it’s such fun to make.

This is another of my go to stamps – Swallowtail. It stamps beautifully using so many mediums. This time I have heat embossed the image onto white vellum using the white Stampin emboss powder. I then turned the vellum over and coloured the back of the image with my marvellous markers – the new in colours, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow and Hello Honey and set it aside to dry.

Once dry I carefully folded the vellum to create a sleeve for the card and trimmed the end of the vellum to follow the contour of the butterfly. I then trimmed the card base to match. You could leave the card as is at this point, but I decided  to get out my Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to create a background on both the front and the inside of the base card
Again I used the new In Colours to match the Swallowtail and finished off with a bit of sponging around the edges in Mossy Meadow ink.
If you would like this card or any of my other projects then why not contact me via my website for a class list.

See you back tomorrow for my final launch project and a sneak peak of my launch blog hop project.

Countdown 2014 /15 – 3 days to go

Simple Saturday
Saturdays are my favourite day of the week as once I have all my chores complete I get to disappear into the craft hole for a few hours and create.  This weekend is even more fun as I have been inspired by the whole host of new products and delicious new in colours I have on my desk. Plus it’s only 4 days to go until the launch of the new catalogue, so not too long until you can get your hands on all these goodies too!  As I’ve had more time in the hole today I have had chance to let the creative juices flow and create two cards. It’s not that hard when you have such great stamp sets to work with.

I am so in love with this set – Baby, we’ve grown.  I stamped the cute bunny and sentiment in black and then got out my blender pen and markers, smoky slate, hello honey and blackberry bliss and shaded in the stamped images. To finish off I used one of the new journaling pens to doodle around the edge.

The second card uses another stamp from the Baby, we’ve grown set but this time was stamped onto watercolour paper. Again I coloured the image using my blender pen and the same markers, but to add a bit more shade I added some brown sugar to the owls. This time I die cut the image using the labels collection and matted the image on another die cut from the lush new in colour card blackberry bliss.
I added some paper from the new designer paper stack, moonlight, added some of the coordinating ribbon and then finished off with some punched flowers using the flower in the new itty bitty accents punch pack. Simple but effective.
See you back tomorrow for another sneak peak

Countdown 2014/15 – 4 days to go

Fabulous Friday !

Yippee it’s the weekend which means I have more time to disappear into the craft hole and its only 4 days to go until the launch of the new catalogue. Today’s card uses the some of the new products in the bumper new catalogue.

The stamp set is perfect pennants, and I used the heart to stamp the background multiple times from the same inking of the new in colour ink lost lagoon, to create a variable layered effect. The message was stamped in basic black onto some white vellum and was then die cut from a framelit banners die.  Using the same die I then cut another layer from the luxurious new designer series paper stack, moonlight. I just love this stack as it gives you such a great selection of designs in a great size for card making. Less waste!
To finish off I added some dimension with a hand cut heart in lost lagoon and an accent stamped in smoky slate. A bit of bling with some rhinestone basic jewels and your done!

See you back tomorrow for another sneak peak

Countdown 2014 /15 – 5 days to go

Thank you Thursday !
So we are now on the home stretch to the weekend and its only 5 days to go until the launch of the new catalogue. Today’s card is another simple card which can be adapted for loads of occasions but also adds a bit of dimensional wow.
Using the fabulously flexible envelope punch board I created three bows which were then be mounted onto strips of the same colour card. I used a selection of colours to create an ombré effect, the new in colour Mossy Meadow, with Old Olive from the brights collection finished off with the pear pizzazz from the subtles collection. To be honest any combination of colours work, but I like the effect this creates and its bang on trend. Add a bit of bling and another greeting from the indispensable sassy salutations and you’re done.

See you tomorrow

Countdown 2014 /15 – 6 days to go

Due to a technical error these posts have been stuck in cyber land and therefore had to be reloaded with a new date

Welcome to Wednesday!
Well it’s the middle of a working week and only 6 days to go until the launch of the new catalogue. Today’s card is a quick n easy one for those moments when you need something in a hurry and is also an homage to the 2014 world cup. I’m really getting into all this football, not that I’ve really watched much….. I just get to disappear into the craft room for hours without being missed!

Using a hexagon punch and one of the framelits die from the circles collection. I finished it off with a sentiment from the Sassy Salutations on a punched decorative label. That’s it!

Countdown 2014 – Just a week to go

With just a week to go until the new catalogue goes live its time for me to showcase some of the new products available to purchase from the 1st July. This card is super quick to make using the incredibly versatile new stamp set – Work of Art. You are going to see this making an appearance very soon as I just can’t put it down. The inks are all from the new in-colour range and are so sumptuous.
